I have been a customer for about 20 years, my golden doodle has been going approx. every 2 weeks for the past year. I took him there 4-14-17 & I will never, ever take him back. I was told he had a matt when I was dropping him off, I felt and said there isn't a matt there. She then said well maybe it was further up, I didn't think much of it. Another lady came in with a golden doodle and the girl told her that the dog was matted and she hadn't even bothered to feel her. She didn't look matted to me. A couple of hours later the owner called me to tell me that my doodle had a matt under his arm & they needed to shave it there because they didn't want to cause him pain. I told him that I hadn't felt a matt, but fine, if it was a small spot under his arm it wouldn't be noticed anyway. When I picked him up I could only see the top of him from the counter, it was when he got out of the car that I saw what they had done to him. They shaved under each arm and into his belly. It was over 8 inches for each armpit area. They also shaved his whole bottom, from right under his tail, to each side, to under his belly, several inches in every direction. The area is very sensitive & there are tiny hairs that when he walks now, he jumps and turns around & tries to lick the area, I know it's hurting him & it breaks my heart. I called & complained this morning, the other owner kept trying to tell me that he was matted to the skin and you couldn't feel them and they had to shave him with a surgical blade. This is a doodle that is groomed regularly, she tried to tell me that they worked hours & hours on his matts and didn't charge me. Lies, he may have had a small matt, but nothing like they are saying. I think they were overbooked and under staffed and it was easier to shave than to groom him properly. They charged me 91.00 dollars for his grooming, I even tipped 5.00, as I always do because I didn't see the damage there. Beware of this place, it has changed recently for the worse.
