Obstetrics
Dr. Wang is Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his medical degree and PhD from the Peking Union Medical College, Chinese Academy of Medical Science, Beijing, China. He has been a member of South Bay OBGYN Medical Group since 2005.
Endometriosis
Used correctly, the patch is as effective as birth control pills are in preventing pregnancy. The patch is a form of birth control that a patient wears on the skin and looks like a small bandaid. The hormones it contains (estrogen and progestin) are similar to those used in birth control pills but are absorbed through the skin. The patch works by suppressing the pituitary gland which, in turn, prevents the ovaries from releasing eggs. It also thickens cervical mucus making it more difficult for sperm to reach an egg. Since the patch contains a dosage which is 60% higher than that delivered by the pills, there is the risk of side effects such as blood clots. Because of this, it is essential that patients using the patch do not smoke. The patch can also be used to treat irregular periods, menstrual cramps, or endometriosis.

The term “high-risk pregnancy” refers to a pregnancy that has an increased potential for complications that could affect the mother and/or baby. A normal, healthy delivery is entirely possible despite a high-risk pregnancy, but it requires special monitoring and attention. She graduated cum laude from SDSU in 2003 with a bachelors degree in nursing and practiced as a labor and delivery nurse at an in hospital setting for over 13 years. She enjoyed maternal child health care so much that she became a women’s health nurse practitioner and nurse midwife, graduating from SDSU in 2014 with her master’s degree in nursing. Megan earned the graduate award for her evidence based change project, co authoring and leading the implementation of a hospital wide OB hemorrhage policy.

Under the law, health care providers, including psychotherapists, must give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for treatment services.

Targeted Ultrasound. A fetal ultrasound can provide the doctor with images of the baby in the uterus. The doctor will be able to determine if certain abnormalities or defects are present.
